Professional Land Surveyor

Mike has recently joined CJW following his retirement from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), where he served as the District Land Survey Manager for 2 years and as a Professional Land Surveyor for 12 years. With over 40 years of land surveying and planning experience across Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Louisiana, South Dakota, and Texas, Mike brings a wealth of expertise to our team. He holds registrations as a Professional Land Surveyor in both Missouri and South Dakota.

Mike has been active in various professional associations, including the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS), where he served as the Past President of the Ozark Chapter. Additionally, he was a past member of the Legislative Committee of the National Society of Professional Surveyors and the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors.

Beyond his public sector tenure, Mike also boasts a successful track record as a business owner. He has provided surveying and planning services for national clients, including Lone Star Funds, Burlington Northern Railroad, Tanger Brothers, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Burger King, and The Osmond Family Theater in Branson, Missouri.

His breadth of experience extends to serving as the elected County Surveyor for Wright and Douglas Counties in Missouri. Notably, during his time at MoDOT, Mike was responsible for overseeing and scheduling surveys for all District projects. His duties encompassed a wide array of tasks such as research, boundary determination, design, construction, reviewing resumes of survey companies, right-of-way acquisition surveys, MODOT boundary location, excess parcel location surveys, design surveys, and bridge surveys. Before retiring, he played a pivotal role in the National Height Modernization Project, fostering a partnership between MoDOT and the National Geodetic Survey.
